Judge Brenda Sanders
The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission has concluded that beleaguered 36th District Judge Brenda Sanders should be removed from bench, the Detroit News reports.
The commission's 17-page report made public Friday said the judge should be barred from seeking judicial office until she can prove she no longer suffers from mental illness, Oralander Brand-Williams of the News reports. It is now up to the Michigan Supreme Court to act on the recommendation.
On Sept. 18, the high court suspended her from the bench without pay.
The Tenure Commission based its recommendation on "her mental disability and judicial misconduct.”
