Justin Verlander, who's in the nation's capital to play the Nationals, spent part of Tuesday touring the U.S. Capitol with bride-to-be Kate Upton, the Detroit Free Press reports.
They got a tour thanks to Upton's uncle, Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich.
The trio are pictured on Instagram by CBS News producer Walt Cronkite, grandson of legendary CBS News anchor Walter Cronkite, Brian Manzullo reports.

Later Tuesday, when a Twitter pest tried to zing Verlander (while overlooking the seven scoreless innings he threw Sunday), the pitcher shot back:
