You've heard of cronuts from a New York City bakery (or you're not paying close attention to vital news). Now meet kemnuts from a Detroit bakery.

At Opportunity Detroit's blog, Melissa Moffitt tells where, what and how they taste:

A new bakery called Krema . . . combined the brilliance of the croissant and the doughnut, creating a kremnut.

These sugarcoated treats feature many mouthwatering flavors such as key lime, raspberry and strawberry filled with vanilla custard, Nutella (which is not only topped with the delicious hazelnut spread, but is also infused with it), crème brulee and plain with sprinkles.

Those calorie bombs are $3.95. The five-week-old shop at 531 Monroe also has traditional Green loukoumades (honey puffs), muffins, cream pastry, spanakopita, feta pie and a daily quiche variety. The menu includes 16 gelato flavors, plus juices, smoothies, coffee and tea.
