Kwame Kilpatrick
Former Detroit Mayor and perpetual headline maker Kwame Kilpatrick just can't be bothered by the court system anymore, what with all the prison he has been busy with.
Kilpatrick says he "prefers to skip a Dec. 10 court hearing," according to the Detroit News. The hearing will, regardless of Kilpatrick's attendance desires, decide how much money Kilpatrick owes in restitution.
The prosecution recommends $4.5 million be paid to Detroit.
Kilpatrick, who is currently in a federal prison in Milan, asked his attorneys to take care of all that nasty court stuff for him while he continues his court ordered 28-year time out.
