Imagine you're feeling all good, having donated money to the non-profit Kilpatrick Civic Fund, thinking you're helping out a community in need of serious help. Imagine hearing this.
WXYZ's Ross Jones report that testimony today at Kilpatrick's federal public corruption trial in downtown Detroit revealed that Kilpatrick used the non-profit's funds to pay for things like a getaway to Colorado with his mistress/chief of staff Christine Beatty; tuition for his sister and cousin; daycare for his children; manicures and pedicures and yoga lessons for Kwame.
It also paid Kilpatrick's $8,605 family vacation to the LaCosta Resort in California, Jones reports.
IRS Agent Ron Sauer said the expenditures were illegal.
