The Los Angeles Book Review gives Fox 2's Charlie LeDuff  high praise, writing that he has a "reputation as one of America’s most interesting political and cultural commentators."

Jerry Gorin of Los Angeles Book Review  A.V. spoke with LeDuff in this mostly unedited interview at the 2014 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books

In a video, LeDuff says of his gig traveling around the country for Fox,  that he travels around to see if Detroit has anything in common with other parts of the country.

And we do," he says. "The main thing I see, black, white, Christian, Muslim, Jew, liberal Democrat, Conservative Republican, everybody hates the government. Everybody feels failed."

He's asked why Detroit matters to LA, to which he says:

"The report just came out. LA is poor. LA's financials are horrible. They've got looming pension doom coming... That's what got Detroit into bankruptcy."

LeDuff also does an imitation of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who he's met before. He says Schwarzenegger told him, once you turn 50 you can't eat whatever you want.  -- Allan Lengel
