The Knight Cap, one of downtown Lansing's best restaurants, is closing later this month after more than 45 years under the ownership of the Sinadinos family, the Lansing State Journal reports.
The restaurant at 320 E. Michigan Avenue was no stranger to Lansing lawmakers and lobbyists.
It is closing March 21, Vickki Dozier of the Lansing State Journal reports.
The Journal writes:
General manager Windy Johnson says it's time to leave the restaurant business. She is moving to the Grand Haven area in western Michigan and is hoping to go into the wine business. Her sister, Charlie Sinadinos, is the owner and is ready to retire.
"I'm already feeling so sick inside because there are people who come in once a month, and you see them once a month and you take for granted they are always going to be in your life," said Johnson. "I am deeply saddened to miss the customers and the people I work with. Kathy Foote, the bar manager, has been with us since she was 16."
