The grand marquee is looking pretty grand.

On Thursday, the Fox Theatre had a ceremonial lighting ceremony for its new digital marquee that had been getting a major reworking for months. It's been updated with new LEDs, video screens and brand aluminum lettering.

The Free Press reports that Fox owners Mike and Marian Ilitch watched from a nearby car during the event that was led by Ilitch Holdings chief Chris Ilitch and OIympia president Tom Wilson.

The event on Woodward Avenue came after months of work on the sign, including including handcrafted "F-O-X" lettering created by glassblowing artisans, Brian McCollum of the Freep reports.
