Judges chose Live Cycle over three other finalists Friday night, based on presentations and a week of public voting. An earlier round eliminated six semi-finalists.

Earlier in the week, Dybis writes, "they pounded the streets. They begged on Twitter and Instagram. They demanded that friends take all of their friends out at lunch and vote at Hatch booths around the city."
