Caleb Carroll
Here's something pretty impressive.
Caleb Carroll, 13, of West Bloomfield, will sing in front of 24,000 tennis fans Wednesday night at the U.S. Open, freelancer Mekheisha Madden Toby writes in The Detroit News. He won the privilege after singing “America the Beautiful” during a national casting call.
He'll perform before the men’s quarterfinals, which will be televised on ESPN, the News story reports.
“This is an exciting moment in my life, and to be honest, I didn’t even dream this big,” Caleb, an eighth-grader at Berkshire Middle School in Beverly Hills, tells the paper. “This is amazing to me to be able to sing at such an important event where they could have chosen anyone, but they chose me.”
