Downtown Detroit could host a new tech event his spring, according to Model D.

The event, called "Pain Pitch," would pair local developers with companies that have technology concerns, or “pain points.” The ideas formed at the event could solve real-world problems, while helping both entrepreneurs and developers better understand Detroit’s technology needs.

Event organizer Alok Sharma, who is the co-founder of the local tech start-up "Studycache," says to Model D:

There are too many hackathon-type events that don’t yield anything…. They are cool, but they don’t do anything.
