Jay Greene of Crain's Detroit Business reports hospitals in Southeast Michigan are ramping up infection control procedures for patients and health care workers.

Officials for Henry Ford Health System, St. John Providence Health System, Beaumont Health, Detroit Medical Center and St. Joseph Mercy Health System have told Crain's they are moving quickly to update infection control procedures at their hospitals.

“We’ve advised our front-line personnel to be extra vigilant when screening patients who arrive in our emergency departments and clinics with fever and other Ebola-related symptoms, including their travel history,” said Marcus Zervos, M.D., division head of infectious diseases at Henry Ford Hospital, in a statement to Crain's.
