Detroit could use more cool riverfront development.
Here's the latest: Kirk Pinho of Crain's Detroit Business reports that a development with 180 luxury condominiums along the east Detroit riverfront is in the works.
He reports that the development will be on a vacant piece of land on East Jefferson Avenue that the Detroit Police and Fire Retirement System sold for $2.3 million to Shelby Township-based Shamrock Acquisition LLC.
Matthew Duffield, principal of Shamrock Acquisitions, tells Crain's that the two-building high-rise development will also include underground parking, a rooftop pool and patio, and possibly about 40 boat slips.
It's not clear when the development will be completed.
