Chesterfield Township police suspect a 25-year-old Macomb Township man who died after being struck by a train around 10:45 p.m. Sunday night north of 23 Mile Road and east of Chesterfield Road apparently committed suicide, The Macomb Daily reports.
“It has all the indications that the person intentionally took their own life,” Detective Sgt. Deron Myers said, according to an article by Norb Franz.
Police said an engineer with Canadian National railroad reported that he was traveling northbound when he saw a white male lying on his back across the tracks, a media release says. The engineer couldn't stop.
