The majority of Michiganders worry about a second wave of the coronavirus.
A poll conducted by EPIC-MRA of Lansing for the Detroit Free Press shows 68 percent of Michiganders are very or somewhat concerned about the virus returning in a big way, while 31 percent said they were mostly unconcerned.
Some health care experts recently told Deadline Detroit that they felt Michigan is reopening businesses too soon.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave the green light for restaurants and bars to reopen dine-in service on Monday around the state. Businesses up north returned May 22.
Some restaurants and bars are expected to open immediately while others said it could take several weeks.
Additionally, the poll shows:
57 percent said Michigan should wait to reopen the economy to shorten the public health crisis, even if that means the economic crisis lasts longer.
36 percent said Michigan should reopen the economy as soon as possible, even if it means the public health crisis will last longer and could get worse
