A suspect in the highly publicized murder of a University of Michigan med student last summer has pleaded guilty.
A report on the WWJ website, which included content from the Associated Press, said that Shaquille Jones, 21, pleaded guilty Friday in the fatal shooting of Paul DeWolf, 25, who was found dead in an off-campus frat house.
In Washtenaw County Trial Court, Jones of South Carolina told the judge that he and two other men came to Ann Arbor to break into homes.
Jones said while breaking in DeWolf's apartment, DeWolf tried to grab the gun of one of the robbers. After a struggle, the gun went off, he said.
WWJ reports that Jones is cooperating and will provide evidence against a second suspect, Joei Jordan, 20, of South Carolina. A third suspect has yet to be charged. -- A.L.
