Maryland and Rutgers are expected to join the Big Ten this week, pushing the one-time "Western Conference" all the way to the east coast.
Maryland will announce its move from the Atlantic Coast Conference at a news conference this afternoon. The Big Ten Network will cover it live.
Rutgers, New Jersey's largest state university and currently a Big East school, is expected to come on board tomorrow. -- JTW
