What's wrong with this picture?
Perhaps everything, everything when it comes to money and politics and campaign contributions.
Paul Egan of the Detroit Free Press reports that four Matty Moroun family members each maxed out their political donations to the two Michigan Supreme Court justices up for re-election.
The Freep reports that Maroun, owner of the Ambassador Bridge, who has plenty of interest in our courts these days, his wife Nora, his son Matthew, and Matthew's wife, Lindsay, gave a combined $27,200 in June to the campaigns of Republican-nominated Justices Stephen Markman and Brian Zahra.
It's not that Maroun is the only businessman to pile on money to politicians.
But it still kind of makes you pause.
The two state justices ruled in Maroun's favor last week in his bid to get a ballot proposal before the electorate in November.
