Tigers pitching ace Max Scherzer is a wanted man.
Wanted by many teams around the league. Scherzer becomes an unrestricted free agent after this season.
Scherzer signed a lucrative, one-year deal with the Tigers for $15.5 million and hopes to stick around after that, but so far, there's no guarantees.
He tells Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press:
“This is the place I want to be. I’m comfortable here. I love being part of the Tigers, so hopefully, we can get something done before spring training. Otherwise I’m confident, after the season, we can completely resolve this.”
Scherzer told Fenech he won't negotiate during the season, saying that would be too distracting.
