The couple renewed vows in Aug. right before a divorce hearing

The on and off divorce proceedings for Rep. John Conyers and Monica Conyers are once again off.

Could it be true bliss this time? Is this really it? No more court proceedings?

A trial for the divorce was scheduled for Tuesday in Wayne County Circuit Court's Family Division. Instead, the couple and their attorneys announced a settlement after negotiations, according to Oralandar Brand-Williams of the Detroit News.

“They have reconciled ... (and) they will move forward as a family united,” said attorney Arnold E. Reed, who is representing John Conyers, the News reports. “Both mutually decided they’re going to make it work and put the effort in and keep (their) family together.

“It’s a move that I fully supported and I fully encouraged. I have nothing but bright hopes for their future together.”

In late August John and Monica Conyers renewed their vows, two days before a settlement hearing in their divorce case.

The settlement was delayed but eventually the court proceedings were scheduled to go forward.

Now they're over with..at least for now.
