Meet 'The Miggy' -- Cabrera Worship With Laces

Forty-four dedicated Miguel Cabrera fans can wear their admiration on their feet.

Actually, the limited-edition Cabrera sneakers they snagged after waiting oin line Saturday are more likely to  be on a shelf than on the street. Each pair cost $150 at Burn Rubber boutique in Royal Oak, Kathryn Larson reports at CBS Detroit.

The slugger's 2012 stats are on the tongue.

Manager Jay John said that New Balance worked exclusively with the store to create the . . . navy-blue pigskin sneaker with Cabrera stats on the shoe tongue and a Triple Crown gold logo.

Burn Rubber's website explains why fewer than four dozen of "The Miggy" were made:

To pay homage to Cabrera’s 44 home runs, there will only be 44 pairs released.
