Jennifer Baghdoian, a 40-year-old Royal Oak mother of two young boys, started an illustration business after getting laid off.
Last summer, she tells WDIV, she got a cryptic note from the White House that "read something like: ‘Your services are requested by the White House.’”

Jennifer Baghdoian: "I couldn't believe they picked me."
She thought it might be a scam, but it tuned out Melania Trump had seen her work and wanted her to illustrate an annual Christmas tour book given to holiday season visitors at the White House.
“I actually hung up the phone and cried because I couldn’t believe they picked me,” Baghdoian said.
She volunteered to produce 20 pages of illustrations for a book that can be seen here (scroll past photos of decorations).
