The Midtown-Brush Park area is getting a Mexican restaurant.

Bakersfield, a small group based in Cincinnati, will be the third commercial tenant at the the former Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe building on Woodward at Watson in the Midtown-Brush Park neighborhood, Adrienne Roberts of Crain's Detroit Business reports. (The Woodward part of the building is considered Midtown. while the side street is considered Brush Park).

The restaurant is expected to open in a 4,000-square-foot space in early 2017, Crain's reports. Detroit will be its seventh location.

Bakersfield serves up booze and items like short-ribbed tostadas and mahi fish tacos. (See menu.)

Other sites are in Pittsburgh, Nashville, Indianapolis, Columbus, Charlotte, N.C., and its Ohio home city.
