When it comes to property taxes, MGM Grand Detroit pays more than any other building in Michigan, and ranks 90th in the nation, according to a list of 2017 taxes compiled by Commercial Cafe, a commercial real estate information company.
Nationwide, outside of New York, the casino-hotel ranks 20th. .
MGM paid $16.6 million in property taxes in 2017. MGM was built in 2006.
The two top properties were in New York: The Northport Power Station Industrial in Fort Salonga, N.Y. with $82 million in taxes and the General Motors Building Office in New York, which paid $75.5 million.
