Michigan State University has assembled some notable commencement speakers for December graduation.
Greg Monahan of The State News reports that filmmaker Michael Moore will be speaking at the 2 p.m. on Dec. 13 commencement ceremony for five MSU schools -- Agriculture and Natural Resources, Communication Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Natural Science and Nursing, and Lyman Briggs College.
Additionally, Teresa Sullivan -- a MSU alumna who heads the University of Virginia -- will speak to students receiving advanced degrees during their ceremony a day earlier.,
Washington Post syndicated columnist George Will speak at the main winter commencement at 10 a.m. Dec. 13.
“We have a dynamic combination of commencement speakers, whose diverse opinions will provide our graduates with interesting perspectives and stimulating conversation,” MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon said in a school press release. “The respectful exchange of differing viewpoints is a marker of the healthy intellectual environment Michigan State models.”
