A third Covid surge continues in Michigan, with new daily cases at their highest point this year.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported an additional 4,454 new cases and 16 deaths on Wednesday. That brings the number of known infections to 637,645 and number of deaths to 15,935 since the outbreak began.
There are believed to be a little more than 1,700 Covid patients in the state's hospitals. The number accounts for people with confirmed and suspected cases of the disease.
