An 11-year-old Michigan boy's online campaign against Internet bullying has gained White House attention, the New York Daily News reports.
Logan Fairbanks of Hartford, Mich., in western Michigan, made a YouTube video with his father in which he reads offensive comments people have posted about him and tells people not to let cyber bullying effect them.
The comments were posted following videos Logan made with his dad, Josh Fairbanks, in which they pull pranks on one another.
“Squeal, piggy. Squeal,” one comment says. “I hope that he dies," “Gay fatass," and "retard alert" are some of the others.
“I hope that people don’t bully other people online anymore, and this helps,” he says on the video. “And people who have been bullied, don’t let these words affect you.”
Doyle Murphy of the reports that the video has resulted in an invitation for him to come to the White House.
Senior presidential advisor Valerie Jarrett.
“If you’re ever in DC, pls stop by the @WhiteHouse and say hi,” Jarrett wrote in a series of tweets Saturday, the paper reports. “Logan may be a future occupant one day.”
