The odds are against it making any difference.
Still, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is expected to ask the state of Michigan for a recount for the presidential election where Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton by 10,704 votes. Stein on Friday asked for a recount in Wisconsin and she's also expected to do the same in Pennsylvania. If those three states were to flip, Clinton would have enough electoral votes to win.
But unlike in Florida in 2000 where the vote difference was just over 500, the margin is greater in these states.
Michigan is preparing to recount nearly 4.8 million votes, Kathleen Gray writes in the Detroit Free Press:
If a recount happens, all the ballots — all 4,799,284 presidential race votes — will be counted by hand at the county level under state supervision.
Stein can't make her request in Michigan until the vote Monday at 2 p.m. when the vote is expected to be certified.
