Michigan reported an average of 5,047 new Covid cases per day for Thursday and Friday, the highest numbers since April. During the two-day stretch, the state recorded 90 deaths, 48 of which came from vital record searches.

On Tuesday and Wednesay, the state reported 4,882 cases per day.

To date, the state has recorded 1,157,606 Covid cases and 22,474 deaths. For balance, it's also worth noting that over 1 million infected Michiganians are classified as recovered.

The state continues to push for residents to get vaccines, particularly because colder weather and increased indoor gatherings may lead to a growing number of infections.
