There has been plenty of tension between Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and President Donald Trump since the outbreak of the coronavirus. She's criticized the White House for not doing enough. He's attacked her for being ingrateful.
Then there's the unspoken issue of her being mentioned as a posssible vice presidential candidate.
On Axios' documentary news program on HBO, airing Monday at 11 p.m., Whitmer tell reporter Alexi McCammond:
"Listen, the worst nights sleep that I've gotten in the last 10 weeks is when he has attacked me on Twitter."
Right before that, she's asked: "Do you feel like when you're talking about the president publicly you have to censor yourself for the sake of continuing to receive fedeeral assisantce?
"Yes," she responds.
