Rep. Fred Upton isn't jumping in the pool with some fellow GOP members backing Donald Trump.

Jonathan Oosting of the Detroit News reports that Upton, the state's highest-seniority Republican in the House, won't endorse Trump, reports Jonathan Oosting of The Detroit News. "It seems to a lot of us that the train is off the track," the Western Michigan representative tells a Holland radio station.. "We’ll see if he’s able to put it back on the track.

"I don’t know, but not a lot of happy campers in terms of how this race is proceeding so far."

He adds: “I’m going to stay in my lane. There’s a lot of things that folks are not happy about with either of these two candidates. We’re running our own race, and don’t look for me to endorse anyone in this race probably the rest of the year.”

When asked about Trump in May, a spokesman for Upton told The News that the congressman "has never had a conversation or even met with Donald Trump."
