Michigan on Sunday reported 25 Covid deaths, the lowest daily figure since March 29, according to the state health department. 

The number of Michigan deaths now stands at 4,551. Of that,1,187 are from Detroit (slightly more than one-fourth). The total number of deaths nationwide is 79,384.

The number of new confirmed cases statewide was 382 on Sunday, bringing the total to 47,138. The daily rate of increase has been 1.5% or less since last Sunday, May 3. 

Data also shows 22,686 people have recovered from the coronavirus as of Friday.

The state stats show that the average age of those dying is 75, the median age 76 and the range is from 5-107.

Of deaths, 53 percent are men and 47 percent women.
