Michigan is using a groundhog named Murray on Monday -- named after actor Bill Murray who starred in the movie "Groundhog Day."

Wayne Peal of the Livingston Daily reports that the ground hog will be used during the Groundhog Day ceremonies Monday at the Howell Conference and Nature Center. The ground hog has traditionally been used to tell us how many more weeks of winter remain.

The paper reports that Murray will stand in for longtime favorite Woody, who has been Michigan’s Official Groundhog.

Apparently Woody has been sick and is dealing with some respiratory issues, the paper reports.
