As of late there's been good news of rising home values.

But there's also this.

The latest U.S. Census data released Thursday shows Michigan suffered big losses in housing values during the last recession, and tied with Nevada for the biggest drop in ranking since 2007, falling from 33rd to 47th in median home value, the Detroit News reported.

Mike Wilkinson of the Detroit News reported:

Among the 50 largest cities nationwide, Detroit had the lowest median home value and Wayne County had the lowest among the 50 largest counties. Michigan tied Nevada for the biggest drop in ranking since 2007, falling from 33rd to 47th in median home value.
