Don't let the recent play of the Tigers fool you.
There really are plenty of All Stars on the team.
WWJ reports that the first returns in the All-Star Game voting show Miguel Cabrera leads all the American League first basemen with 440,407 votes and Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler holds a slim lead for that position. The game is slated for July 15 in Minneapolis.
WWJ reports that Tigers star designated hitter Victor Martinez is currently in third place. He trails David Ortiz of Boston and Nelson Cruz of the Baltimore Orioles.
Rookie Nick Castellanos is in fifth place among American League third baseman and three Tigers outfielders made the top 15 at the position — Torii Hunter at sixth, Rajai Davis at thirteenth, and Austin Jackson at fourteenth, WWJ reported on its website.
