The Tigers slugger was the candidate of old white men. Lucky for him, that’s who decides baseball’s MVP awards.

The unusual mash-up of politics and sports is by Josh Levin, 31-year-old executive editor (aka boss) at the Washington post-owned site. His take on last week's American League MVP face-off between Miguel Cabrera and Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels:  

Cabrera was far from the choice of the new generation. In this election, the Triple Crown winner’s main constituency was old people in old media.
