Now comes more fallout from the roadway beating of motorist Floyd Dent in Inkster.
Police Chief Vicki Yost has resigned, Fox 2 reports, citing unnamed sources. Yost gave the city 30 days' notice, butt was relieved of duty today, sources say.
The department has come under fire since a patrol car dashboard video showed officer William Melendez beating and choking Dent on Jan. 28. Melendez was criminally charged this week in the beating and has been fired.
All criminal charges against the motorist were dropped, including cocaine possession. Dent says Melendez planted the drugs in his car during a traffic stop.
