A new reality show -- "Motor City Masters" -- debuts this month on truTV.

Despite its name, the lion's share of the series takes place in Los Angeles. The final episode is filmed in Detroit.

And yes, as you can tell by the name, it's about cars.

The 60-minute show begins Tuesday, June 24 at 10 p.m. and brings together 10 experienced designers who have a passion for car design. Two are from Michigan.

Chevy is a sponsor and collaborated in the production, according to Chevy spokesperson Cristianna Vazquez.

Contestants create fully functional concept cars in each episode. Brooke Burns ("Baywatch," "Melrose Place") is the host.

On the first episode, the contestants form two teams that redesign a Chevy: One team works on a  Cruze and the other on a  Malibu. A panel of judges decides on the winner.

In the second episode, the designers transform a Chevy into a life-size Hot Wheels model. All the cars used in the series will be Chevys.

The field of contestants narrows after each challenge. In other words, like the show "Survivor," someone goes home after each challenge.

On the 10th and final episode, the two last contestants face off in front of Chevy's car design experts at the world headquarters in Detroit. One will be crowned the "Motor City Master."

The winner gets a 2014 Camaro Z28 and $100,000 in cash.

The winner will be named a "Brand Ambassador" and have an opportunity to showcase their designs at major auto shows.
