 Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio has a nice Rose Bowl victory to savior, but he's also about to become a richer man.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Dantonio will rank among  the top three Big Ten coaches in terms of salary with a new contract, Joe Rexrode of the Detroit Free Press reports. He reported that athletic director Mark Hollis confirmed the new deal.

MSU did not release details of the new deal, but the Freep reports that the coach is likely to go from his $1.96 million contract to the $4 million range.

USA Today reported that Ohio State’s Urban Meyer tops the Big 10 salaries amongh coaches with  $4.6 million, Michigan’s Brady Hoke is second at $4.154 million and Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz is third with a salary of $3.985 million. USA Today shows that Tom Izzo, MSU's basketball coach, earns $3.2 million.
