Pat Caputo, the Dick Morris of sports punditry, says "fate" is on Michigan's side in Monday's NCAA basketball championship game. Fate being something sportwriters like to talk about when they've got nothing else.

The math, however, is still with Louisville according to Nate Silver. Louisville, who Silver has protected to have the best chance to win it all since the tournament began, was given a 62.9% chance of winning the national championship tonight against the Wolverines. Silver rates Michigan as having a 37.1% chance of pulling the upset.

Essentially, if you flip a coin 100 times, it will come up Michigan's way 37 times. That's slightly better than a one in three chance, which isn't great, but not terrible either.

Michigan can win tonight but fans need to realize, as Louisville Coach Rick Pitino might say, Glen Rice is not walking through that door, fans. Rumeal Robinson is not walking through that door, and Terry Mills is not walking through that door. And if you expect them to walk through that door, they're going to be gray and old.  What they are is young, exciting, hard-working, and they're going to drain threes from practically the time line.
