Phone banks will be open from 5-10 p.m. Friday for the 10th annual Winter Survival Radiothon, a two-day WWJ 950 fundraiser for The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW). It resumes from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday.
The station and Detroit charity collaborate each January to collect donations for emergency energy assistance and raise awareness of neighbors unable to pay home heating bills. Some of those in need will be interviewed on the air.

Since 2004, the campaign has raised more than $9 million in cash and matching funds from utility partners and local businesses, according to the Detroit Regional News Hub's blog.
The Radiothon's headquarters will be in Warren outside Art Van Furniture, 6500 14 Mile Rd.
