Nestlé Waters
Remember when Nestlé Waters wanted to up the amount of water it siphons from Michigan for basically free and pretty much every state resident who weighed in was opposed? The reported public comment totals were stunning: 80,945 people spoke out against the plan, while only 75 people supported it.
Now, new information obtained by The Young Turks via Freedom of Information Act shows the discrepancy was even more stark: After some "quality control" on the comments and when eliminating duplicates, just 44 people supported the plan.
TYT's FOIA turned up additional gems, though. The progressive news outlet got ahold of messages sent by the pro-pumping crowd, and they're "comdey gold," as the author of the investigative piece, Ken Klippenstein, says on his Twitter.
Here's one from a David V:
I, as a consumer should have the right to choose a healthy beverage option (like bottled water) over the high calorie drinks full of sugar. There is a need for bottled water.
Thank you

In case you forget how this story ends: Nestlé Waters' request to pump an additional 150 gallons a minute from the state's water table was approved in April. Three days later, Gov. Rick Snyder said he'd end state-sponsored water bottle distribution to Flint.
