It's hard to fathom the inhumanity of tossing a newborn baby in the trash.

WDIV's Jason Colthorp reports that Police are investigating the discovery of a a body of newborn in a dumpster at a recycling center in Roseville.

The baby was found 11 p.m. Wednesday by workers who were sorting recyclables at the RE Community Recycling on Groesbeck.

WDIV reports that police are trying to determine if the baby belongs to a 25-year-old Okemos woman, Melissa Mitin, who is charged with murder in the 2013 death of her baby girl.

WDIV reports that she gave birth to a boy in December 2014 and told an Ingham County family court judge that she "could not recall" where the baby boy is.
