When the National Football League tweeted out video promising to let us "hear what Dez Bryant was really saying during his sideline outburst against the Lions," people probably thought: Sweet, I want to know what the Cowboys receiver was fighting about with tight end Jason Witten at the end of Sunday's game.
Unfortunately, that's not the outburst the NFL tweeted. Instead of what we can only assume was an epic profanity-laced meltdown between Bryant and Witten, they give us a boring interaction between Bryant, QB Tony Romo, and a coach about passing routes from earlier in the game. It wasn't even the good part of that Dez Bryant sideline outburst, which can be seen (though not heard) in the animated gif below.
It's almost as if the league released this video to deflect criticism that Bryant--a rising star on one of the league's premier teams--is a prima donna who can't control his emotions. The NFL would never do something like that, right?
