While rejecting his request Friday for new trial, Wayne County Circuit Judge Vonda Evans had some rather unflattering things to say about Bob Bashara, who was convicted of murdering his wife Jane in a case that brought out details of his kinky sex life.
Evans told Bashara, 58, that he masterminded the “pitiful plot” to murder his wife “and dump her body in Detroit like garbage," Evans said, according to a report in the Detroit Free Press by Elisha Anderson.
“There has not been a miscarriage of justice,” Evans concluded, the Freep reported.
She went to say that he'd been given a “dream team” of attorneys with more than 50 years of experience and was provided with investigators to prepare for his trial in 2014, the Freep reports.
“You were afforded privileges that no other defendant has been provided in Wayne County in my 19 years of tenure on the bench,” Evans told him.
