Mike Babcock is gone and the Detroit Red Wings will announce today at an 11 a.m. press conference that Jeff Bashill, the coach of the Grand Rapids Griffins, will replace Babcock as head coach, WXYZ reports. The Griffins are the Red Wings AHL-affiliate.
Ken Holland, executive vice president and general manager, will make the announcement.
