The lesson here: Better to sneak in your Goobers in the theater than to bother with a lawsuit.

The Free Press reports that a Wayne County judge on Friday tossed a suit by Jason Thompson's lawsuit that accused a Livonia movie theater of charging excessive prices for snacks. The suit had gotten national attention considering that most people think the prices for movie snacks are pretty expensive.

The paper reported that Thompson, a security technician from Livonia, sued the AMC theater in Livonia, hoping to get theaters statewide to tamp down their prices on snacks.

He said that last December he paid $8 for a Coke and Goobers, which are chocolate-covered peanuts, the Freep reported.
The suit said he used to bring his own snacks to the theater until the theater posted a sign banning that practice.
