Detroit area viewers did a double-take Thursday night when a graphic on WDIV-TV during the coverage of  the death of Nelson Mandela showed Alex Rodriguez, the controversial New York Yankee third baseman.

The New Daily News noted: "WDIV 4 in Detroit confuses the anti-apartheid revolutionary with the embattled Yankees slugger."

The paper added: "Alex Rodriguez always seems to find himself in the middle of everything, most recently the coverage of Nelson Mandela’s death."
