Novi House Fire Kills 5 Co-Workers

Fire investigators were trying to determine the cause of a Sunday morning fire at a Novi home in the 2300 block of Mystic Forest Drive that claimed the lives of five restaurant co-workers, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The victims, believed to be in their 20s, worked at a local Asian restaurant and may have stayed at the home “occasionally,” but it wasn’t yet clear if the home was their permanent address, Daniel Bethencourt of the Freep reports.

The most damage was in the basement, the paper reports. The fire started around 9:30 a.m.
