There were plenty judges' races in Metro Detroit and the state worth noting.

Judge Brian MacKenzie
In Novi, controversial District Judge Brian MacKenize was defeated by Travis Reeds by 215 votes, 23,830 to 23,615, according to the Detroit Free Press.
You might recall that MacKenzie was embroiled in a controversy with Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper, who had filed a complaint last year charging MacKenzie with illegally dismissing cases. Oakland County Circuit Judge Colleen O'Brien concluded that MacKenzie had violated the law more than a half dozen times, but took no action.
For state Supreme Court, the Detroit News reported that Supreme Court justices Brian Zahra and David Viviano and attorney Richard Bernstein were leading with 96 percent of precincts reporting as of early Wednesday morning.

Viviano was winning in the seat for a partial term, and Zahra and Bernstein held the lead for two remaining, full eight-year terms. A third candidate, Kent Circuit Judge James Robert Redford, was trailing. y, Bernstein and Dern are running to serve full, eight-year terms on the Supreme Court.
In another hotly contested race, Attorney James Maceroni defeated Assistant Macomb County Prosecutor Steve Fox to take over the seat currently held by his father, Peter J. Maceroni, the Macomb Daily reported.
Maceroni was leading, 56.2 percent to 43.8 percent, with 92.9 percent of the precincts reporting, the Macomb Daily reported.
